About SASSETA
SASSETA was established in terms of the Skills Development Act, No. 97 of 1998 with the mandate to promote and facilitate skills development for the safety and security sector.
SETAs are entities of the Department of Higher Education and Training. There are 21 SETAs; each servicing a specific economic sector of the Country.

I am a PhD student at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Howard College Campus and my name is Lennox Luzipo. My student number is 211507479. I am funded by SASSETA. In January 2022, Ms Katlego Pitso (bursary administrator) noted that the SASSETA committee will discuss the possibility of extending my bursary. Ms Pitso also mentioned that she will inform me the outcome of the discussion. Currently, I do not have another sponsor even though I tried to apply for other bursaries since I received the email from Ms Pitso. I was not informed that SASSETA would not sponsor me in 2022. If I had known in 202, I would have applied at an appropriate stage. Please, help me and this is my year of study at a PhD level. Reply at your earliest convenience. Thank you
