The 2025 intake at the University of Fort Hare (UFH) opens in May or June of the preceding year, with deadlines falling in August or September.
How to Apply Online at The University of Fort Hare
The application process for the University of Fort Hare (UFH) may differ slightly depending on whether you’re applying for undergraduate or postgraduate studies, as well as your nationality (South African or international). However, here’s a general overview of the steps involved:

- Should you be applying using a device other than a laptop/desktop, please ensure that you have read the POPI clause, as well as, the applicable rules and regulations before proceeding with your application.

Important Information when Submitting the Application Forms via Email
- After completing the application form make sure you save your form using your name and surname( e.g. SAM MHLANA)
- Scan all your other documents (ID, RESULTS, PROOF OF PAYMENT OR ANY OTHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS) and make sure you also save these using your name and surname e.g. SAM MHLANA
- Make sure that your email address or cellphone number that you write in your application forms is working for us to contact you.
General Rules for Postgraduate Qualifications
1. All applications for admission are subject to the selection process.
2. Applicants must comply with the general admission requirements and any other specific requirements as prescribed by the Faculty.
3. A candidate may be expected to attend an interview, undergo a selection test and/or make a written presentation to the relevant head of the department
