The University of Fort Hare follows a semester-based academic calendar, with two semesters per year.

2024 Academic Calendar Highlights:

• January 22 2024: Registration for first-year and continuing students begins.
• February 12 2024: Official Opening of the Academic Year.
• April 8 2024 – April 15 2024: Mid-Term Break.
• May 24 2024: Lectures end for the first semester.
• June 3 2024 – June 13 2024: First semester exams.
• July 18 2024: Second semester begins.
• October 25 2024: Lectures end for the second semester.
• November 4 2024 – November 14 2024: Second-semester exams.

2025 Academic Calendar Highlights:

• Semester 1: February 10 – May 30, 2025
• Semester 2: August 11 – November 28, 2025
