What Is Required of You Before Applying to Join The SAMHS Military Skills Development System (MSDS)?

• Be a South African citizen with no dual citizenship.
• Be between 18 and 26 years old at the time of reporting for the Military Skills Development System (MSDS) program.
• Have a valid Senior Certificate (Matric) with an Admission Point Score (APS) of 24 or above, excluding Life Orientation.
• No criminal record or pending cases.
• Meet the medical and physical fitness requirements set by the SAMHS.
• Be prepared to commit to a minimum of four years of service after completing your training.

How to Apply for The SAMHS Military Skills Development System

Follow the steps below to apply for the South African Military Health Service;

The SAMHS Military Skills Development System (MSDS) application portal opens annually around August-September and remains open until February/March of the following year for the next intake.

STEP 1: Access the Official Website

Start by visiting the official SAMHS website: http://www.mhs.mil.za/

Look for a section or link labelled “Careers”, “Vacancies”, “Join Us”, or similar. This is often found in the main menu or footer of the website.

STEP 2: Find the MSDS Application Portal

Within the careers or recruitment section, locate information specific to the Military Skills Development System (MSDS) program. This is the pathway for nursing training within SAMHS.

Look for a link or button that says “Apply Online” or “MSDS Application Portal.” Clicking this will redirect you to the dedicated application portal.

STEP 3: Create an Account (if required)

If you haven’t applied before, you’ll likely need to create an account on the portal. This involves providing basic personal information and creating a secure login.

STEP 4: Complete the Online Application Form

Follow the prompts to fill out the application form accurately and completely. This will include sections for personal details, education, qualifications, contact information, and any required documents.

UPLOAD THE NECESSARY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS AS INSTRUCTED, SUCH AS;
